Preparing speeches during camp:
One of the main goals of camp will be to have each student prepare and present one platform, interpretive, and a limited preparation speech at the end of camp for families and friends. We will help the students craft these short (3-5 minute) pieces during camp sessions and practice times. Students ar expected to come ready to learn and be willing to try unfamiliar things. We promise it will be fun. :)

A note on interps: The first day of camp, you will be asked to choose one of the pieces found in the following links to work on during camp. Please take a moment to look them over to find one that suits your fancy. Each student must select one interp to perform at the end of the week. Students who have been to camp before must select one of the more advanced interps. Students will also be required to perform a platform at the end of the week and will be walked through the writing process during camp.

Homework:
Every day you will be assigned 1-2 hours of homework to do after camp. While we will be doing a majority of the work on pieces during camp itself, you will probably have to finish it at home. We will keep homework as minimal as possible, bt we believe it is als beneficial or students to work through the concepts they have learned on their own and then bring us back questions they stumble across. Projected homework can be found on the Basic Camp schedule on the "Camp schedules" page.
